For nearly 20 years GAUNT FILMS has been making independent films with captivating characters that aim to provoke a deeper understanding of the human experience.  Our first feature documentary A PLACE CALLED HOME: AN ADOPTION STORY premiered on PBS, won a ‘Crystal Heart Award’ at the 2004 Heartland Film Festival and the ‘Audience Award’ at the Indianapolis International Film Festival.

We are currently in development on our first narrative feature – the crime drama THE NIGHT WATCHMAN.  In 2017 we released our short thriller RED MAZE which aired on Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network and won several awards including the Silver Remi Award at Worldfest Houston.  In 2012 we produced the PBS documentary ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE which was funded by the Illinois Arts Council and premiered at the Chicago Cultural Center before screening at film festivals around the world. We also produced the 2013 science fiction short DAYS END.  Click Here to view a few samples of our work.
